What changes the plan
A convertible is most enjoyable when the route does not depend on continuous roof-down driving. Choose an outing with an indoor stop and a place to pause legally. Check the actual forecast before departure and let comfort, visibility and the operator’s instructions determine when the roof should remain closed.
Have the handover include a complete roof demonstration on the exact car. Do not assume another model’s sequence, speed limit or luggage clearance applies. Secure phones, hats and loose items before driving. Never reach for a dropped item or operate unfamiliar controls while moving in traffic.
Pack by dimensions rather than suitcase count. Soft bags may be easier to arrange, but the actual compartment and roof mechanism control what fits. Keep travel documents dry and sun protection accessible. If airport luggage is substantial, separate the arrival transfer from the convertible experience.
